time is a'wastin'...

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote...
Music takes us out of the actual and whispers to us dim secrets that startle our wonder as to who we are, and for what, whence, and whereto.
Jacob was home for a few days a couple of weeks ago for some R&R.  It always amazes me that even when he is still, without a guitar or instrument in his hand, his mind is surrounded by music.  The ability to create, write and compose music is astounding to me, yet for him it comes as easily as putting his shoes on or fixing a bowl of cereal.
It is a wonderful gift to have and even more so, to share it with others.
And that is all he wants to do...is share it with others.  He has been blessed in that the rest of the guys in the band, have such a love and respect for music as well.  They all want to make honest, fun and entertaining music.  The kind that is lacking in a lot of music you hear today.  These guys are all huge fans of some of the greatest musicians EVER... Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Hoagie, etc.  Everday they learn, they practice, they share and they play their music and nothing could make them happier. NOTHING!
When they were young, we would tell both him and Sarah that we would support them in whatever direction they would take in regards to choosing their careers and that we just wanted them to be happy.
So, when Jacob sits and shares openly with anyone who asks him about his choice, he will honestly tell you that he is living a dream and he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
He is happy and he is making his dreams come true.
We love that he respects music the way he does and are especially proud that he makes clean, beautifully written music.  I can hardly wait for their new CD and for the journey ahead for him and the band.
If you want to be a part of this journey, you have 3 days to help them in the process.
Thank you for your support and for reading this lengthy but very worthwhile piece!  A momma can brag, can't she?
