Strawberry season

I told you all that I am hooked on farmer's markets so on my way home from fabric shopping I still had time to make a detour and stop & pick my own strawberries. I ended up grabbing 2 buckets and off I went to the endless rows and rows of taste bud tempting organically grown, bursting with flavor, strawberries. The purpose...homemade jam! Oh yeah!

I did want to mention that if you ever pick too many or buy too many fresh strawberries, you can easily freeze them for later.
How to: make sure they are clean (don't soak because they lose nutrients that way), dry completely, layer on a cookie sheet (single layer only) and place in freezer until frozen. Then carefully remove from sheet and place in a baggie. That's it! You'll have fresh strawberries for later.
